Eric Elias Attended SPASAI Funded Workshop in China

National Audit Office of the People's Republic of China (the CNAO) hosted an International Training Program for Auditor Generals and other senior auditors of South Pacific Countries and regions during the period of November 20-30, 2005 . Eric Ekiner Elias, Auditor III, represented the FSM Public Auditor's Office and attended the 3 rd International Training Program of the CNAO. The training was conducted and completed at the Guangzhou Chime-Long Hotel in Guangzhou city, Guangdong Province in the People's Republic of China . CNAO with the support and assistance extended by the Ministry of Commerce, China , Guangdong Provincial Government and private sector companies had jointly and successfully organized this training.

During the period of the training program, a general introduction was made about China 's Economy and Audit System, Legal Framework for Auditing in China as well as the experiences and achievements of the CNAO in the following fields: Financial Audit, Economic Accountability Audit, Environmental Audit, Public Investment Audit, Performance Audit, IT Audit and Training and Management of Auditors. Furthermore, during the end of the training program, the participants were flown to Beijing to tour the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China . According to Eric Elias , the trip was very successful in that participants and facilitators exchanged audit experiences and other related issues. The trip was paid for by the CNAO.
